Boomerang Discover
Outlines Boomerang’s Product “Discover” which uses your Calendar data to uncover Champions.
Uncover potential leads through the power of your calendar events
Why Boomerang Discover?
Integrating your Google Workspace calendar with our platform can unlock valuable business insights by analysing your team's calendar events. This integration can help you:
- Uncover Missing Contacts: Detect potential contacts from your meeting data that may not have been added to your CRM
- Add missing opportunities: For existing contacts, sync up past meeting data which may have missed entry revealing opportunities
- Reveal Warm Connections: Leverage historical data to uncover pathways to these contacts through your employees, especially when there are changes in the professional careers of previously engaged contacts.
Most opportunity records typically have only a few associated contacts, which is far below the average size of a buying committee. Boomerang’s Calendar Integration analyses your meeting data to identify all relevant contact leads linked to opportunities, enriches their details, and syncs them back into your CRM, ensuring alignment with your calendar data.
To maintain a clean and accurate CRM, Boomerang offers the ability to:
- Configure your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) or Buying Committee criteria and push only matching contacts.
- Filter contacts based on the number of meetings, they have been part of.
- Suppress the creation of contacts with personal email addresses.
What data do we access?
At Boomerang, we try to identify high-potential leads by tracking the frequency and recency of engagement, roles of potential clients/champions, and previous meeting outcomes. For this, we would need read-only access to the following.
- User names and their public profile
- Different user groups that the users are a part of
- User calendar events to identify the meetings taking place, the people involved, and the subject of discussion
Below mentioned are the Google API scopes associated with these permissions. We will be revisiting this in more detail during the Google integration setup.
Scope | Use |

FAQs

It is possible to generate leads from past employees’ data if that data has been preserved in Google Workspace (as a deactivated or archived user).
Does this work on all my previous meeting data?
Yes, we can retroactively pull all the existing data in your Google Workspace in order to get your CRM in sync with the existing company calendar data
Can this be used to create accounts in Salesforce?
You can configure “Discover” with the necessary roles under which account creation is included. If you don’t want additional accounts to be created automatically, you can select to turn this off.

What can I do to make sure user data is retained after the end of employment?
Google Workspace offers to store user data of your previous employees at a fraction of the cost of a user. You can read more about it here.

No, this essentially syncs all publicly visible events on your calendar that have any external attendees.

How can I disable Boomerang’s “Discover” on my workspace?
You can choose to disable your calendar sync via “Discover” at any time by removing the domain-wide access granted to Boomerang’s client. This can be done via your Google admin console, where permission was granted. Steps here
Can I disable tracking of specific sensitive contacts?
Yes. Boomerang provides you an option of explicitly denying permission to sensitive users whose data would not be used for tracking.
