Triggering workflows on Hubspot

Through this guide, we are going to show you how you can setup triggers on your Hubspot instance.

To set up triggers you need to go to Automations>Workflows. If you have pre-existing workflows, we can integrate them into our flow. Some use cases of workflows are:

  • Sending notification to contact owner on a job departure.
  • Sending notification when a new job change lead is created.
  • Adding lead to sequences.

Some examples of standard Boomerang workflows:

I. Past Contact’s job departure

  • Workflow is triggered “When filter criteria is met”
  • Trigger: Boomerang - No Longer at Company = "Yes"
  • Once the trigger is set, you can add decisions/actions as needed!

II. New Boomerang Lead created When Boomerang runs its job change engine on your contacts for the first time, it is common for a high number of historical job changes to surface. This leads to a high volume of leads to be assigned to each BDR in the first month. To avoid multiple notifications to the same owner, add another criteria on “Boomerang Plays” as follows:

  • Workflow is triggered “When filter criteria is met”
  • Trigger: “Is a Boomerang” = “Yes ”, AND “Boomerang Plays” does not contain “Historical”
    • Notion image

III. Add Boomerang Leads to Sequences

  • Workflow is triggered “When filter criteria is met”
  • Trigger: Is a Boomerang = “Yes ”
  • Here is a simple auto-sequencing workflow example where we are using the value of Boomerang Plays to add contacts into their respective sequences:
