Step 12 (Only TAS Customers): Additional Setups
🛠️ Salesforce Setup: Create Custom Fields & Lead Source Values
To enable Boomerang to surface job changes and enrich contact insights effectively, please create the following custom fields and values in your Salesforce org.
1. Create Custom Fields on the Contact Object
Navigate to:
Setup → Object Manager → Contact → Fields & Relationships → New
Create the following fields:
✅ (a) BR_Seniority
- Data Type: Text
- Field Label:
BR_Seniority
- Length: 255 (default)
- Purpose: Captures parsed seniority (e.g., Manager, VP, C-Level)
✅ (b) BR_Job Start Date
Only create this field if the Boomerang managed package is not installed.
- Data Type: Date
- Field Label:
BR_Job Start Date
- Purpose: Tracks when the contact started their current role
✅ (c) BR_Left Company
Only create this field if the Boomerang managed package is not installed.
- Data Type: Checkbox
- Field Label:
BR_Left Company
- Purpose: Indicates if the contact has left their previous company
✅ (d) BR_Linkedin_URL
Only create this field if the Boomerang managed package is not installed.
- Data Type: URL
- Field Label:
BR_Linkedin_URL
- Length: 255
- Purpose: Stores the contact’s LinkedIn profile link
2. Add Boomerang Lead Source Values
Navigate to:
Setup → Object Manager → Lead → Fields & Relationships → Lead Source → Edit Picklist Values
Add the following:
Boomerang AT
– for auto-tracked contacts via calendar/CRM
Boomerang Discover
– for newly enriched or surfaced contacts
